Privacy policy

The short version: Lumen is a static information site. It doesn't ask you to sign up, it doesn't collect your wallet, and whatever you tick inside the tools stays only in your own browser. Below are the details, with no runaround.

The single most important point We never — and cannot — collect your wallet address, private key, seed phrase, exchange password or verification codes. There is nowhere on this site to enter that information, and we will never ask you for it. Anyone asking for it in Lumen's name is a scammer.

1. Who we are (data controller)

For the purposes of data-protection law, the "controller" of any data processed through this site is the team operating Lumen (lumenfirst.com). The simplest way to reach us about privacy is by email at privacy@lumenfirst.com.

2. What we don't collect

  • No sign-up, so we don't hold your account, password or email (unless you email us first).
  • No wallet, private key, seed phrase or exchange login — there are simply no such input fields on the site.
  • No identity verification and no collection of ID documents.

3. The data we do collect (anonymous usage analytics)

To understand which content is useful and what needs improving, we use a basic website-analytics tool — Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Through cookies and similar technologies it collects aggregated, anonymous usage data, such as: approximate visit counts, pages viewed and time on page, referral source, device type and approximate region (derived from a truncated IP address, not stored as your full IP).

  • This data is not used to identify you personally — what we see is trends, not "what a specific person did."
  • Legal basis (GDPR): where required, analytics rely on your consent; otherwise we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site. The data is processed by Google as a third party under Google's own privacy policy.
  • You can reduce or block this by using your browser's "Do Not Track" or global privacy control, an ad/analytics blocker, or Google's opt-out browser add-on.

4. Tool data stays in your browser only

For the small tools on this site — the scam self-check and the pre-flight checklist — your ticks and answers are stored only in your own browser's local storage and are never uploaded to our servers.

  • That data lives on your device so you can pick up where you left off — nothing more.
  • Clear your browser data, or switch device or browser, and those records are gone, because they never left your machine.

5. What cookies and local storage are used for

This site may use a small number of cookies or browser local-storage entries, strictly for:

  • remembering some interface preferences (such as menu state);
  • saving the tool progress described above;
  • supporting the anonymous analytics described above.

We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising profiles. You can clear or disable cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some features (like saving tool progress) may stop working as a result.

6. Third-party links

This site contains links to third-party websites such as exchanges and wallets (including referral links). Once you click away from this site, you're on someone else's website and bound by their privacy policy. We can't control, and aren't responsible for, how a third party collects and uses your information — please read their privacy terms yourself. For details on referral links, see the disclaimer.

7. Your privacy rights

Because we collect almost no information that identifies you personally, in most cases there is no "personal data of yours" for us to act on. That said, where the law in your region grants you rights (for example the EU/UK GDPR or California's CCPA/CPRA), you can generally, within the applicable scope:

  • ask whether we hold any personal data about you and request access to it;
  • request correction or deletion;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • withdraw consent you previously gave for cookies/analytics;
  • under CCPA/CPRA, opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — note we do not sell or share your personal information.

Since the only way we'd usually be able to contact you is if you emailed us, to exercise any of these rights just email us and we'll handle it within a reasonable time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

8. Children

Crypto is extremely high-risk and this site is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from minors; if you're under the legal age of majority in your region, please access the site under a guardian's guidance.

9. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the site means you understand the current version.
